WQ...
Shouldn't it be something more like:

jayembee...
[snip]

I agree. I see "CW" and I immediately think "Country & Western".
Maybe they intend to bring back HEE HAW.

weberm...
I'm still trying to figure out how CBS will have two networks now.

David Levy...
What do you mean? CBS Corporation already owns CBS and UPN.

weberm...
It strikes me as odd because they already have the CBS network.

Jack Bauer's Spunky Sidekick, Ian J. Ball...
They may not get to hold on to both - see my other thread about the FCC
issues that this brings up.

Taylor...
Call it YTV... as in, "Y, God?! Y are you doing this to us?!".

David Levy...
Yes, and they already have UPN. Does this not also strike you as odd?

UBN or UBC. United Broadcasting Network or Company.

jayembee...
Or, to steal from (I think it was) AMERICA TONIGHT:

"UBS. Where we put U before the BS."

Taylor...
Call it whatever the fictional network was called in the Bill Murray
'Scrooged' (1988). I rather enjoyed their fake promos. :-D

David Levy...
1. "CBS" hasn't stood for "Columbia Broadcasting System" since 1974,
and Columbia Pictures is owned by Sony. The "C" stands for "CBS."

2. Paramount Television (now known as CBS Paramount Television)
belongs to CBS, but Paramount Pictures is part of Viacom. CBS
Paramount Television will be a sister company to the new network (not
a parent company), so why should "Paramount" be part of the name?

3. Since learning of the terrible "The CW" name, I've been thinking
that "CWN" (which made your list) would be a much better name. (Of

Jack Bauer's Spunky Sidekick, Ian J. Ball...
I'll be abbreviating it CWN whether they do, or not.

course, I always have thought that "The WB" should be called "WBN.")

Jorabi...
Sheesh, you must be a riot at parties.

Jack Bauer's Spunky Sidekick, Ian J. Ball...
I reserve judgement until I see a lampshade on his head...

Jack Bauer's Spunky Sidekick, Ian J. Ball...
Effectively, it *was* WBN (for "The Warner Brothers Network"), and was
even called that by some early on.

Or my favorite:

POW! - Paramount Or WB, with the slogan: Take your pick but it's now
the same network!

Or my other favorite:

The 5th - with the slogan: Take the 5th! [network not amendment, of
course]

Margarita Salt...
I know, vanity letters are dull and uninspired.

You forgot COW, CBS or Warner

Margarita Salt...
Only from their target audience.
