Oh c'mon. I didn't think the movie was that horrible. It's not the
type of movie I would want to watch again, but I enjoyed it for what it
was: A unique fairytale about a woman trying to escape the "grass wolf"
and get back to her home.

I thought it was one heck of a gutsy movie with a magical blending of
the mythic and commonplace, with big kudos for using people who looked
normal and acted as actual human beings and bringing out the heroism
latent in the common folk, instead of having the typical Hollywood
beautiful people.

I like Shaymalan. I like twee fantasy stories. This film, however, was so
slapdash and incoherent as to make me wonder what value anyone could have
telenovels...
|
Seemed pretty clear to me:
- Man finds woman.
- Decides to form a "team" to help her get back home.
- First attempt fails, because they picked the wrong people.
-
- So they assemble a second team.
- And this time they succeed.
- The end.

Raspberry, my ass.

I heard it was basically a story he told his kids (with their input, I
assume, as kids will do). Perhaps they don't deserve the award (since
they're kids and all) but daddy should have known this weak fable wasn't
going to fly.

Interesting. That's the way I felt about _The Village_.

I thought Indestructible had a great idea, and a superb ending. The hour
or so before that was a bit hard to sit through.

But even that bad hour is infinitely better than the whole of Signs.
