Beach joins 'Law & Order: SVU'
Actor to become regular on hit NBC show
By JOSEF ADALIAN

"Flags of Our Fathers" thesp Adam Beach is joining the cast of "Law &
Order: SVU."
Beach, who had a guest turn as Brooklyn detective Chester Lake on an
episode of the skein that aired Tuesday, is in final talks to become a
series regular. He's expected to return later this season.

Poor Richard Belzer! We knew him well. What did he get in the last
four eps, about three lines??
Seriously, that show (unless it alternates some how) only really has
enough room for Stabler and Benson.

Patty Winter (patty1...
Woo-hoo! I hope those "final talks" work out.

I'm off to the "we knew him when" North of 60 group to let everyone
there know about this good news.

Barry Margolin...
I had a feeling that this was going to happen. That episode seemed like
a tryout of a new character, what with the tension then introduced
between him and Finn.

"SVU" creator Dick Wolf first worked with Beach on "Bury My Heart at
Wounded Knee," the HBO telepic Wolf produced. Beach has the lead role
in the project, which is expected to debut in May and is already being
considered one of the paybox's key longform Emmy contenders.

Beach's other credits include "Windtalkers," "Joe Dirt" and "Mystery,
Alaska." He'll also appear in upcoming CBS mini "Comanche Moon," the
Eye's follow-up to "Lonesome Dove."

Anthony D. Langford...
Does SVU need another regular? On most weeks we don't even seen a bulk
of the cast or they get what amounts to a cameo. Unless... the show is
preparing for the possible departure of one or both of it's leads if
the contract negotiations fall through.

et472...
There is talk that the two actors playing the two main characters
are in negotiation, so Adam Beach may be added to replace one of them,
or this story is an attempt at limiting the demands of those two actors.
