Two questions:
1. If you are watching live tv (with commercials), what's your record for
continuously watching tv (allowing for bathroom breaks)?

During football season I can watch 6-6.5 hours continuously, and
that's probably my limit because after that I feel like taking a
break.

I think that's about my limit too. I don't think I've ever watched 8 hours
straight. Although I've probably watched a sports double header which
likely is in that 6 hour +/- time range.

That would be at least one of the MST3K "Turkeyday marathons".

On my days off I can easily sit at my PC and watch TV from like 1pm to 3am
with a few smoke breaks, making coffee, cook food, bathroom breaks....but of
course no commercials....

On weekends I routinely turn on the tv at 6 a.m. and watch various
movie channels (fx, tnt, tcm) or the History channel continously until
11 or 12 p.m.

2. If you are marathoning tv shows on DVDs, what's your record for
continuously watching tv (allowing for bathroom breaks)?
David...
|
I don't have an attention-span I can be proud of. Unless the movie is
completely riveting I can't even get through a normal-length dvd
without stopping for a few minutes halfway through. My dvd record is
probably five "Simpsons" episodes in a row.

My DVD record is probably about 6-7 hours for half a season of The
Sopranos.

Just this week I got through the entire final season of Charmed in 3
days...which is pretty good going.

When the first season of 24 came out on DVD, I watched the whole thing
on Saturday and Sunday. If you figure each ep is about 40 min, That's
about 16 hours straight.

For added fun you should also not eat or drink and only use the
bathroom if Jack does.

I'm not sure. 4 days I think? I was doing a deal where I wanted to
see how long I could stay awake.

2002 Olympics from 8 in the morning to midnight or longer...for sixteen
days. I had the chicken pox...it was all I could do to drag myself to
the couch.
