No idea if my DVR flaked out of if they didn't show it?

It was a repeat of the pilot.

It was a rerun tonight.

Yeah these DVRs are pretty cool. If you set up a seasons pass and
it is a repeat the
DVR recognizes it as a repeat and will not record it. Happened on
our TIVO for my wife
who watches Greys Anatomy.

This is another example of why I keep putting off getting Tivo/DVR. I
don't want the machine to think on its own. If I set up a pass for a
show, I want them all, not just new ones. The thing doesn't know if
I've missed an episode or want to see one again, and if I have to use
a manual set-up for everything, it's really no better than my VCRs. I
wish the wrinkles in this tech would get smoothed out soon.

BTW, the bigger story is......FRIGGIN REPEATS ALREADY???!!!

It was explained thusly on a web forum I'm on....
"the show is in repeats because the production has a hiatus week. hour
shows usually have 8- or 7-day weeks and each show takes at least 3
weeks to rehearse, shoot and post. the producers/production staff are
given a week of downtime every 4th week for additonal casting, breaking
new storylines, meetings, publicity, etc. and other stuff they can't fit
into a production week schedule.
nothing to do with baseball, really. it just happens to coincide right now."

Not exactly true. Networks routinely yield to the World Series,
especially the later games.

They do have periodic breaks though. Perhaps the networks plan them for
special events, such as the Series, holiday specials, etc....
