Here in the eastern time zone, Fox has a football game scheduled right
before the season premiere of "24" next Sunday. As we know, football
games always run long. We've gotten used to them joining "King of the
Hill" in progress (isn't it fun watching the last 5 minutes of a show
without seeing any if the premise?), but I doubt that's what they'll do
with one of their top shows. So it will almost certainly stop and end
late -- I added an hour of padding on my DVR.

I noticed the same thing with tonight's CBS schedule. "60 Minutes" is
scheduled to start at 7:30, and the whole rest of the schedule is
similarly 30 minutes behind the normal times.

No overtime, but the game still didn't end until 8:05. Then they had to
have another commercial break and a post-game wrap-up, so "24" started
almost 15 minutes late.

It's still a good reminder that the start time may slide.

Good thing I live on the West Coast. The games'll be over by the time 8 pm
roll around.

Considering how much Fox has been hyping the first minutes of "24" as
can't miss, there is no way that the network would join in progress.
