Do the Grammys suck more than usual?

Worst awards I've seen to date.....super boring. I flipped back and forth
trying to catch the Keith Urban performance and then I shut it off.

Couple of years ago watched some Grammies and saw Jack White Stripes
guy do a guitar solo worth sitting through two hours of garp for.

Every time I flipped on this year's, it bored me in fifteen seconds,
anything hot there I must have missed it.

The two animated cartoon bits were funny. First with Madonna and then a very odd
and freaky cartoon showed up for the Sly Stone bit. Or was that a muppet?

It seems that the Grammies are getting to be more about giving out
lifetime achievement awards and paying tribute to artists of the past,
rather than highlighting the best music from the previous year. I do
like some of the tribute performances-- Melissa Etheridge's tribute to
Janis Joplin last year was definitely one of my all-time favorite
Grammy moments-- but in general I would rather hear the current
nominees/winners. Watching last night's Grammies, I felt that too many
of the awards were given out prior to the televised portion of the
ceremony. Also, I remember the Grammies used to be more diverse, with
performances from classical, jazz, bluegrass, and gospel artists,
without pop, rock, or rap artists sharing the stage.

The Grammy's have sucked for a long time.

All awards show suck. Especially now that they aren't "live" --- no
cursing, no embarassing moments -- it's awful!
