NBC's in the Thicke of it

SitcomSitcom vet Alan Thicke ("Growing Pains") and Food NetworkFood
Network regular Sandra Lee have been tapped to host NBC's upcoming
"Celebrity Cooking Showdown."
SkeinSkein, from exec producers Ben SilvermanBen Silverman and Sean
"Diddy" Combs (Daily Variety, March 13), has also finalized its celeb
cast.
From the music arena, producers have lured rapper Ja Rule and country
music star Big Kenny of Big and Rich, while Kansas City Chiefs star Tony
Gonzalez and volleyball's Gabrielle Reece will reprep the sports world.
Thesping cast includes Tom ArnoldTom Arnold and "Days of Our Lives" star
Alison Sweeney. Rounding out the roster are model Naomi Campbell, Miss
USA 2005 Chelsea Cooley and musician-turned-reality-star Ashley Parker
Angel.

Colin Cowie ("Everyday Elegance") has been set as one of the judges, with
the other judge yet to be finalized.
"Cooking Showdown" is set to bow the week of April 17.

Watched the first installment - there's an hour of my life I won't get back.
I kind of feel bad for Cat Cora and Govind Armstrong for being involved with
this embarrassment. If there is any justice to come out of this, it would
be that their agents suffer the same indignation for eternity with Alan
Thicke, the judges and the studio audience. Cat and Govind are trying to
make a name for themselves; this abomination did not help them at all. Ol'
Wolfie? He's already proven that he can make a fool of himself. This show
just showcases that fact.
