Surprise, surprise. I doubt you even watched it. You seem to reply to
these posts just to post a 1 or zero. My suggestion, if the show offers
you such little entertainment, CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!
Ten Quidado...

Why would I vote on something I haven't watched? I record the show for
nights when I can't sleep. Works every time.
Steven L....
|
In that case, I am going to email "gavalos" and request that your vote
be DISCARDED from this poll as invalid.

You're admitting you haven't watched the whole show then. Same, same.
My comments stand. If you don't like the show, record something else and
try Ambien.

I am growing weary of this, I have to say.
So they toss in 2 more backstory connections (to Sawyer and Sayid), 2

What was the backstory connection to Sawyer? I must have missed it. Was it
confirmed that Anthony is Sawyer?
|
Captain Infinity...
|
I was only watching with one eye; what are these backstory connections?

The woman whose house Locke was inspecting was Nadia (Andrea Gabriel).
I believe the other connection is speculative, some here believe
Locke's father will prove to be the original Sawyer.

more mysteries (the loudspeaker and the air-dropped food parcels), a
whole other puzzle (visible only in the ultraviolet light), and a
partridge in a pear tree.
If I wanted to amuse myself by solving puzzles, I could just buy one of
those puzzle magazines, the ones that have crosswords and fill-ins and
word search and so on. I don't need to watch TV shows for that.

Cool new mysteries, twists and turns, food deliveries, and more of
Locke's tragic past. What's not to love?
Should it be taken as a clue that one of the overarching themes of the
show is con jobs?
Poor Locke. No father, no girlfriend, no money...and we STILL don't
know how he lost the use of his legs!

Ah, patience, grasshopper! No doubt that's coming and deserves an
episode all to itself.

I give it 5 stars.
A couple of things I noticed.
Sawyer asked Jack about his tattoo. I though we might learn why Jack
has it. But Jack blew the question off. I guess we will have to wait
for another backstory about Jack to learn about the tattoo.
What do you know, DHARMA has its own version of MREs. Besides the
macaroni & cheese supper I wonder what other delicious meals where on
that pallet.

Well hopefully, more Dharma - O's!

Ok - so now we know Henry isn't who he says he is - who is he, really? Just
an "other" - or something more?
Palpie...
|
Look who's to say his 'wife' has to be female. :) and he was using
his BF's name as a way to remember.....Ohhhh ok he's an Other.
|
Am I to assume that the "lockdown" will happen every time the food delivery
comes?
Palpie...
|
Probably, the only other cause I can think of, other than just random
chance, is the time when John was slightly late with the numbers. It
could be some delayed response because the equipment is old.
|
I was kind of disappointed we didn't see how Locke lost the use of his legs.
Palpie...

We never will :) I was expecting either Helen or dad's car to explode
with Locke close by.

Btrw, how many jobs has Locke had now; walmart place, box factory,
home inspector. Versitile guy.

Too bad Locke didn't see those pictures Sayid was carrying around.

I love the surreal, but this wasn't trying to be surreal. It was
trying to pass itself off and real and contemporary and it stunk it up.
I lost two hours of my life.

Whoever did it had one heck of a video system to be able to see that much

"PRD: every 6-8 months" could mean Personell Resupply Drop. Those numbers are the coordinates?

I figured that's what PRD stood for too.

Jack Locke...
|
The upper right corner of the map appears to confirm that the meteorological
research was going on there. Not sure which station that is.
|
Jack Locke...
|
My impression is that this was the purpose of the Staff station. The
surgical aspect of the place seemed to be a very minor part. And they sure
did a number on Claire's head while she was there. Maybe Zeke's crew is
largely composed of former Staff staff...
|
Jack Locke...
|
My guess is that this was the purpose of the Arrow facility. The only
writing near it is the comment "I think we're on the same wavelength" which
may be a reference to research into telepathy or or clairvoyance. The Arrow,
of course, was also where the tailees found the radio and where they managed
to get "on the same wavelength" as Boone but the writing couldn't have been
a reference to that (however it could have actually been a reference to the
radio being on the same wavelength as a radio that was in the Swan bunker at
one time and whoever drew the map may have somehow left that radio there and
then monitored the frequency he left it on back at the Swan. The problem
with that theory is that the Arrow station is further away than the Staff
and one man couldn't possibly have made it there and back in 108 minutes,
but perhaps that trip was undertaken back when there were still two people
at the Swan so it wasn't an issue. There is a reference near the Staff that
says travel time is "incompatible with 108" but that may have been written
later when there was only one occupant).
But my guess is that's the parapsychology station.
|
Jack Locke...
|
References to the zoological facility are in the lower right corner of the
map. Again I'm not sure which station name goes with that.
|
Jack Locke...
|
The Swan, or station three, as we all know.
|
Jack Locke...
|
By process of elimination, this seems to leave us with station four (the
Flame.)
I believe that's the correct matchup of stations and research missions.
However, there also appears to be a larger facility near the center of the
island and supposedly a seventh research station was under construction at
one time, and it seems there are several small caches or warehouses in the
immediate vicinity of the Swan (and likely some near the other stations as
well), so there are still plenty of new DHARMA sites to uncover.

Dharma Initiative Management Group? Medical Group? Hard to say.
|
So it is a map of the island. Any one overlap what the Losties have from their map, as well as what they've already explored, like Black Rock, the Cave, Roussue's place.
pv+usenet...
|
I haven't seen the other maps in detail to try to do that. Whoever drew
this map was specifically documenting Dharma Initiative assets on the
island. *
|
Fred Ellis...
|
No, it is not a map of the island. It is a diagram/schematic of the
DHARMA bunker complex.
~consul...
|
Which is on the island.
I just noticed, that Magnus Hanso is buried there, and they also list "Blackrock". So he may have been on the ship?
Fred Ellis...
|
Yes, the bunker complex is on the island, but the diagram on the blast
door is not a map of the island. I have a copy of it and doesn't look
like this. The drawing on the door is a diagram or schematic of the
DHARMA bunker complex itself. You could call it a map, but it is more
of a diagram or schematic with a lot of foot notes.
Steven L....
|
Some island features do appear to be drawn in, such as underground
streams (cf. the nearby footnote about "alleged location of...large
number of underground springs"). And those closed curves on the right
look like topographic lines depicting mountains or hills (cf. the nearby
footnote about "mountainous terrain").
This is obviously not an "official" DHARMA diagram. Rather, the phrases
like "alleged location," "confirmed location," "could be," etc., suggest
it was sketched by the Swan bunker crew from fragmentary evidence they

Well, that's where we differ in opinion, I didn't think that it
was trying to pass itself off for real at all, in the start yes,
but that was to fool us into a safe spot where we thought we knew
what kind of film it was and then it turned into something more
surreal and engaging.
Of course, it's kind of pointless trying to debate an opinion of
a movie, but I just never understood why it got such a bad press,
I understand it a bit more now. I still look on it as one of my
favorites though, along with Fight Club.
At least we all enjoy LOST, right ?

had accumulated. It probably gave them something interesting to do
throughout all those long months in the bunker. Kelvin must have a good
sense of humor--the label "There are dragons here" for an area still
unknown to him.

Yes, we all enjoy LOST. :)
FYI, hated Fight Club. ;)

After Alien Cubed I'd have been very reluctant to let Fincher waste another
2 hours of my life. The Game got me based entirely on the 'will watch
anything with Michael Douglas' theory (had I seen Falling Down before I saw
The Game Douglas would have lost that distinction).
The Game was so unrelentingly awful I pointedly watched the credits to note
who's work to avoid in the future. And there Fincher was. He'll never get
another chance from me. Fight Club I avoided intentionally.

Well, it also identifies places outside the complex - such as the "Possible
Location of KEV4?OR Zoological Research Facility" notation outside of the
main complex.
I really like the idea someone had before of overlaying the Losties
locations on this diagram. I'd like to see the beach settlement, the caves,
the location of the Beechcraft, the tailies crash site, the Black Rock,
Danielle's underground bunker, etc in relation to the locations cited on
this map.

The three square roots are the first three numbers. The rest of the sequence
would have been the square roots of 256, 529, 1764. I've got nothing.
The station in the upper right has no designation. And there appears to be
another station to the southeast, but with no lines connecting it to
the others on the map.
The marking next to the swan station is CVII, 107 in roman numerials, one
less than the total of the numbers. On the other hand, CVIV (which repeats
twice, once with a question mark after it) isn't a valid roman numeral, so
maybe it's just CV and a number. CV I, CV II, CV III, CV IV all appear on
the map, apparently labeling rectangular structures. I'm going to take
a wild guess and say that CV stands for 'containment vessel'.
All of the latin phrases are well known epigrams and sayings:
Sursum Corda: lift up your hearts
Cogito ergo doleo: I think, therefore I'm depressed
Ut sit magna, tamen certe lenta ira deorum est: The wrath of the gods may
be great, but it certainly is slow.
Hic Sunt Dragones: Here be dragons (didn't even need to look this one up)
Credo nos in fluctu eodem esse: I think we're on the same wavelength
Malum consilium quod mutari non potest: It's a bad plan, but it can't be
changed.
Aegrescit medendo: The cure is worse than the disease. *
