David...

David...
I don't mention websites out of respect of the fact that they don't
want to be mentioned given that torrent sites keep getting shut down

videonovels...
.

That won't protect them. The MPAA knows how to use search engines and
trace-routing (just as we do) to locate trackers. Niteshdw was a
hidden site & the MPAA knew about it all along.

jayembee...
If Niteshadow was a "hidden site", it was hiding in plain sight. When

videonovels...
You just proved my point. No site truly stays hidden, even if they
try.

I found it, it was by doing a Yahoo search for " +
torrent".

So basically, I don't buy your excuse.

as soon as they reach a certain level of popularity. Besides that,

archang...
Maybe post Azureus magnet links, then...

I've given out isohunt.com three or four times in this thread alone.
What's so difficult about going there and typing what you're looking
for in a search box?

Ian J. Ball...
Nothin'. We just like buggin' ya... :)

videonovels...
If you're not going to give us the address for the tv episodes you
found, what's the point of telling us to "go search isohunt". I

jayembee...
What "address"? All the torrent sites have is a torrent file that

videonovels...
example link of what I mean:
Stargate S10E01:

jayembee...
Why should you expect that? If you ask for some information about,
say, a particular movie or actor, and someone replies with, "Why
don't you look it up at the IMDb?" do you expect them to provide
the specific page for that movie or actor, or do you feel that

videonovels...
.

If the object is something difficult to locate (like these pilots),
then I expect a direct link to the downloadable torrent file.

jayembee...
I don't think "difficult" means what you think it means. They aren't
any more difficult to locate than anything else on the net.

I also expect people to link to newspaper articles, so we can verify
it's a real article and not just inventive fiction.

And I expect people to list citations when they are writing a report,
so it's factual and not just an opinion piece.

jayembee...
Those aren't the same thing, and you know it. Citations are there to
support the facts in the thesis/report/whatever so that the reader
can verify the truth of what's being said.

That's not the same thing as what's going on here. What did David need
to cite for you to "verify". That the pilot does indeed exist and that
it's on-line?

.

I guess I expect a lot from people. I expect them to be thorough when
publishing information, rather than just saying "go look it up". THAT
is laziness on the part of the original author.

jayembee...
So, when you started your "Golden Age" thread, and noted that some
of your assessments of programs from the 50s and 60s were based on
opinions found at the IMDb, why didn't you provide links to those
specific opinions?

it's sufficient for them to just point to the site and let you
take it from there?

Jeez. Some people are just freakin' lazy.

contains the tracker information. Where the file is actually coming
from is mostly unknown (unless you want to make an effort to go
digging for it; most torrenters don't).

Plus, torrents are listed on any number of sites, and all get pointed
to the same tracker. I could say that it was on mininova or torrentspy
or torrentportal or whatever, and they'd all point to the same tracker.

And guess what? David could've sent you to any of those sites, and
you'd *still* have to search for the particular torrent you want.

already knew that before I read your thread; you're just stating the
obvious. Might as well not create this thread.

jayembee...
Why? Because some people might not understand? So what? He was doing
a service for those of us who *do* know how to find a torrent once
we know that it's available.
CW's "Runaway" and CBS's "Jericho" and "Shark"

Casey McDonald's Guidance Counsellor, Ian J. Ball...
I'm not being facetious here. But could you do a summary of where you've
found the various pilots?

I know you found some at some of the nets' websites, some at places like
YouTube, and a few others on The Bittorrents.

A listing would surely be appreciated! :)

jayembee...
I grabbed RUNAWAY (doesn't interest me, but a friend is looking for
copies of all the fall pilots she can get her hands on). Hadn't seen
JERICHO and SHARK upped yet, but I hadn't gotten around to looking
today.

Thanks for the info.

Jorabi...
David - looking at the pilots you have grabbed, what
word or words appear in every one of their filenames?

David...
"Jericho," "Shark" and "The Nine" say "preair." They can all be found
at isohunt.com

Also, can someone post a list of pilots that are out
there so far, and repost it as more come online?

David...
So far I've only come across those and "Runaway" from Fall and "Hidden
Palms" and "Rules of Engagement" from midseason.

Ian J. Ball...
More to the point, when are you going to start reviewing some of these
job-ies?!

Is that what we pay you for?!?!!
