CW Viewership through 12/17/2006

Okay, here's a catch-up through last Sunday. There's not a lot of point in
doing it every week in December, cause basically there's really no new
episodes (except Rasslin' and specials) and the ratings are going to suck
(not just for the CW, but across the board). As always, the raw numbers
are Nielsen's, the math is mine.

It looks like those OTH repeats may just outperform the Gilmore Girls
repeats. Maybe CW should have stuck with OTH repeats rather than those
British specials? Of course, without ANTM, the OTH repeats may not perform
very well. I doubt that Beauty/Geek will be as good a lead in.

William George Ferguson...

While I don't expect OTH's ratings to implode, I'd bet money that you
aren't going to see any ep draw 4 million viewers that isn't running behind
ANTM. I expect that new eps aired without ANTM will draw around 3 million
viewers, and repeats without ANTM will draw around 2 million, with
both numbers being slightly better, but only slightly better, than VM.

As I mentioned in another post, there just aren't enough repeats aired yet,
for either GG or OTH, to form a pattern. That's likely to stop being true
over the next month,even if the discernable pattern for OTH is 'repeats
aren't aired'. It looks like GG repeats are being aired rather than
pre-emptions.
