El Nath...
I see the series "Heroes" being successful in the beginning. But there
is some kind of conflict coming.

Major ChrisB...
I thought the pilot was kind of boring...all set up with not much in the way
of plot...it looks like it might have potential and might be good but the
pilot certainly wasnt

Ian Galbraith...
If it was the same as the one hour pilot leaked months ago then I think
they chopped the pilot in half, this is just the first part.

jayembee...
The leaked version of the pilot was 55 mins. That was the shorter
version. The longer version, which I believe was shown at the San
Diego Comic Con, was something like 75 minutes, and that's what's
been chopped in half. The 55-minute version, for example, did not
have any of Greg Grundberg's scenes in it.

El Nath...
Emerson, maker of the Emerson In-sink-erator filed a lawsuit telling
NBC not to rebroadcast the pilot of "Heroes".

pv+usenet...
Losers.

The complaint is that the pilot suggests that their product will cause
injuries if a consumer accidentally sticks his/her fingers into one.

pv+usenet...
It was no accident in the show. Are they contenting that it's IMPOSIBLE to
hurt yourself with an insinkerator? Frankly, the things frighten me. *

Moreover the suit alleges that NBC Universal had no permission to use
the In-sink-erator brand diksposal in the program.

David...
If the networks don't snap you up before next pilot season I'll be
shocked!

daveparks_00...
It looks okay - but according to the promos, there are still plenty
more "Heros" to discover next week.
Could get long and drawn out fairly quickly; especially with half the
'Heros" running around moping about their super powers.

Also thought the webcam chick bit was a lame grab at horny fanboys - if
they needed a recording device to further the plot, security or
surveillance cams are everywhere nowadays.

Amanda...
Yes, but it also added irony to her fear that she was being "watched."

Depending on the competition, I see it worth several good weeks to see
if it really 'takes off'. ;-)

Clifford Blau...
I sure hope so, or else it won't be much of a series.

Seriously, I really didn't care for the style of the show. Nothing
much happened, and we didn't spend enough time with the characters to
get to know them at all, except maybe Mr. Teleportation. Seems like

Bill Steele...
Looks like they originally filmed a two-hour pilot, and so far we've
only seen the first half. They still have to hook up with one another

jayembee...
From everything I've read, the full pilot clocks at about 75 minutes,
while the broadcast version was (minus the limited commercial time)
about 55 minutes. The rest of the material from the pilot was pushed
into the second episode.

I'm curious about whether the broadcast on Sci Fi this Friday will
also have "limited commercial interruption" or have 10-12 minutes
chopped out of it. It seems to me that they must've made a shorter
version of the first episode to accomodate reruns and syndicated
showings.

and establish a goal--presumably to prevent the nuclear explosion the
painter predicted.

it'll take a lot of patience. I'll probably give it another week or
two, to see if it can suck me in. The twist with the brothers was
good, though.

I've read a couple of places that the heroes got their powers after
the solar eclipse, but isn't that wrong? The painter was predicting
the future for at least 3 weeks, and Indestructible Girl said it was
her sixth attempt to harm herself, and that was before the eclipse, I
think. (Oh, yeah. I liked her telling the camera guy she would

Kevrob...
That'd be too much like the Marvel "New Universe" and its "White
Event."

reward him by speaking to him in public at school.)

David B...
They had their powers before the eclipse.

Kevrob...
An A/V Club member's dream.

Did you notice that Clare is from Odessa, TX, real life location of
Permian High. That's the school the book "Friday Night Lights" is
about.

She's a Panther Pepette! Crossover! Crossover!

Anim8rFSK...
I forgot the eclipse (it's been a couplel months since I saw the pilot).
Didn't they have an eclipse that you could see from the US and Japan?

jayembee...
Yes, but not at the same time. Obviously. It was during the workday
in Japan when the eclipse happened (and it was total), which means
it was nighttime in New York. By the time Peter is seeing the eclipse
in New York, Hiro and his buddy were at the Karaoake bar having
drinks after work.

That seems to be tough . . .

Curse you, Don Tickles, Notary Public!
