By replacing the outwardly educated head of the division with some
female who looks as much like a head coroner as Paris Hilton? Of
course, unlike the man who was black with negroid features, true to
form this "black" young female has essentially caucasoid features,
which play much better to audiences, as the TV brass knows.

I didn't even notice that she's black.
The problem I have with the new character is that her face looks too
similar to Angela's.
KC...
|
Apparently, she's half African-American, half Scottish.
Pidge...
|
No.
In Canada, we just call her half-black.

See, this is where 'African-American' fails as a designation.
Her father is Canadian.
In fact, so is her mother.
I think "Her father is black and her mother is of Scottish descent" is
about the best we can do here.

She played Michael's ex-girlfriend on Lost, Walt's mother.

You know what, I didn't recognize her. For some reason, she seemed taller on LOST.
KC...
|
Maybe it has to do with her co-star's heights. Harold Perrineau is
5'10". Emily Deschanel is 5'9" and Boreanez is 6'1". Maybe she
carried herself differently in the Lost role. I know I forget how
short Al Pacino is, because of the way he carries himself.

Actually, my theory is that we see actors and other performers at
a distant (so it's easy to not be able to judge their height) and
we just give them tallness (because they are famous).
I noticed this in 1982, when I met Joan Baez. My first reaction
was "she's short", but as I thought about it, I had nothing to
base her height on. I just assumed she was tall, and when
reality hit, it contradicted that.
Later, I started hearing performers in interviews talk about
how people are always saying they are shorter than imagined, so
it seems to be a common thing.

One the other hand, I was about 12 when I met John Wayne, and he was
just HUGE. :-)

Yeah, but, Rich, you would criticize Paris Hilton and/or Lindsay Lohan
if they were non-Caucasian (Black/Hispanic/Asian) dimwit party girls.
It just shows you're racist that a black female or male coroner on
'Bones offends you'. :-) Have a nice day.

I gotta agree. Angela and The New Chick look *nothing* alike.
Angela's half-Asian with possibly some Native American influence in
her features, The New Chick is at least half-Black with NO -- I mean,

Yes, I thought so too.

Really? I don't see it at all. Nothing in their faces looks similar
to me. I think they're both attractive women with dark hair, but
that's about it.

next to each other. They both similar bangs, their eyes are both
almond-shaped (slightly Asian), their face shapes are the same, they
have similar lips. They could definitely play sisters.

Honestly, I don't see it. Yes, they both have dark hair and bangs,
and Tamara's eyes are slightly almond-shaped. But, Tamara's eyes are
wide-set, and she has lots of eyelid. Their eyebrows are completely
different. Michaela has a much broader face. On the show, I think
their skin tone and the shape of their noses looks very different,
although those aren't really apparent in the two FOX photos. If you
poke around the IMDb, there are a variety of photos which better
accentuate the physical differences I see between them.

Except for one of them is sort of Asian and the other is sort of black. I
suppose they could play half sisters.

And then there's the ZZ Top compliaction...
Slayah...

Oh yeah! I forgot about that. That does make things interesting.

As I mentioned before, I couldn't even tell that the new one is sort of
black. She looks more like sort of Asian to me, because of the eyes.

So what you're saying is you can't tell those half Irish and half
Scottish apart? :-D

I was prepared to dislike this character, but she was okay. I've
liked the actress in other things, and she didn't come on too strong
like what's-his-name did when he guested on "House", screaming
CONFLICT.
"AD" dad was better. His quirky personality fit with the rest of the
group, and this woman is a little too police procedural to me. Her
manner takes away from the oddball aspect of the way they interact.
Having said that, though, she was much better than I expected.

CLEARLY NO Asian features. Not even in the eyes. They look about
alike to me as William Shatner and DJ Qualls (OK, I'm exaggerating for
effect and implying nothing about one being Shatner-like and the other
being Qualls-like). Methinks, though, some viewers need glasses more
than I do.

oh, come on. I watch tv to be entertained. And this actress entertains me
more than the other guy did.

I can't even really remember the other guy.

There is something to be said for miniming some characters and
concentrating on others.
Does anyone care what Bone's boss does?

You got something against Canadians?
