Rick...
As someone else pointed out, last night's episode had to be filmed in late
October, since it coincided with the Rutgers-Navy game on October 29th.
That means that when Trump used the word "apprenti" a few episodes back
(referring to his children), his use of the word preceded Randal's use on
the finale, which was shown live mid-December. While a lot of us assumed
Randal just made up the word on the fly, it seems that he may have actually
picked the phrase up from Trump.

Mike...
It's not really unusual or brilliant to add an i at the end of a word
that ends in "s" to make it plural. For example, a couple years ago I

Elle...
What you're trying to say is ignorance is usual.

was working on a presentation with another guy and we needed a word to
describe multiple focuses, and the guy I was working with came up with
foci which we later found out was an actual word. Anyhow, lots of
people have made singular words plural by adding an "i" to the end of
it.

Elle...
Lots of people don't save money for retirement, either, and
die early, in poverty.

Celebrating ignorance isn't right.

I bet you really are a fungi.

Rick...
I just think it would be quite a coincidence if Trump and Randal both came
up with the word on their own independently. Aside from those two times, I
don't think I have ever heard anyone say the word "apprenti". My point was
that Randal may not have made the word up on his own (as many of us assumed)
but could have heard Trump say it.

John H...
Unless Randal had access to the shooting of The Apprenti, we'd have to
assume that Trump actually use this phrase often. At least once within

Jack Wang...
"Apprentice" ends with an "s" somewhere?

Locutus...
I am pretty sure he meant words that end with an "s" sound.

Jack Wang...
Most words that end with "us" is derived from Latin, and their plural forms
arecreated by changing the "us" with "i." That's not the case here.

Locutus...
LOL.... What is you trying to say???

Randall's hearing.

By the way, I have heard and used the word "foci" many times - it's used a
lot in many math, optics and various other applications. For example, it is
common to refer to an ellipse as having two foci.

John H...
That's because "foci" is a real word... as is fungi and cacti. "Formulae"
is also a proper word, you'll probably hear Trump saying he needs to buy
some umbrellae for his workforce during the rainy season.
