The Unit - 11/21/06 - Question (Spoilers possible)

I have a question about last night's episode.

I was preoccupied during most of the episode and missed some of it. Who was
the woman Jonas was with? I saw them kissing but I'm not sure if anything
else happened. Did he cheat on his wife with her? I know she was part of
the mission but I'm not sure why she thought they'd be together afterwards.

She was the operative he met up with at the job to provide cover as his
wife.

In one scene we see them in their bedroom and we see Luis and his security
guards
watching them through security cameras. Jonas is aware of the cameras so
they have
to put up appearances.

Although not explicitly shown, the implication is that he was willing to go
to such
lengths to preserve the mission that he did in fact sleep with the woman, in
order to maintain
appearances.

So, the final scene is reenforcing that she got emotionally attached at that
point.
She was not a professional, only someone who was willing to help in exchange
for
a one-way ticket out of the country.

This was a very fine episode, by the way. Very morally ambiguous and well
balanced.

I'm not sure why but I had a feeling his wife might either suspect something
or has decided she doesn't want to know.

I think she long ago decided the latter. Out of all the wife's she is
clearly the most
experienced and practical from this point of view.

The assistant had returned Jonas' wedding ring to her for safekeeping.
From that she knew that Jonas was going on a mission posing as a single
guy. She's pretty intuitive to know what that means.

She had the discussion with the girl whose husband went to work for the
contractor. The girl mentioned possibilities for the husbands like
shacking up or being assassinated. Molly replied the only way to live
with that is "Don't go there."
