I believe this was the first primetime soap opera. Anyone recall it? Has
it ever been rerun on TV since its original airring?
Jude Cormier...
|
I think TNT in the early days aired it in reruns.

I was thinking that someone had run it at some point. If that's vague
enough, LOL.

Someone else suggested that it was the old Romance Classics channel--it
prolly was that one.

I believe it was repeated, but I can't recall when. I think it was back
during the 70s. Since then very few B&W shows have seen repeats unless
they've been colorized or are shows such as Lucy or Honeymooners.

About half of the series run (500+ episodes) is in color. My guess is that
the show's absence from reruns is equally due to the fact that most soaps
don't repeat well.

There seems to be renewed interest in this novel since its the 50th
anniversary and a possible movie on Grace Metallius.
So any chance Nick will start airring this series or DVDs released?

Nick?
Jude Cormier...
|
He means Nick at Nite.......no, it will never be on there. highly unlikely
Donna B...
|
Oh, Lord, what a concept. LOL
|
TV Land will consider it either.
Donna B...
|
Oh, no way. Positively giggle-worthy.
Maybe HALLMARK.
|
Don't know if SoapNet would ever consider it either.
Donna B...
|
Could happen, though. I wonder how many episodes there are.
Jude Cormier...
|
514 episodes (267 b/w 247 color), not counting the daytime revival "Return
to Peyton Place".

I know it had young future "stars" like Mia Farrow and Ryan O'Neal.
I have never seen an episode of this series has anyone here? Has it
stood the test of time? Or should it be forgotten?
Donna B...
|
Yes, I saw it. It didn't particularly grab me, but it did many people.
