Is simpsons better than it used to be?

So we've now got season 7 on DVD in the UK
But was it better in the S1 days?

I don't watch The Simpsons very much any more so I can't comment on the
latest seasons but I think it had its best days in the first several
seasons. The drawing of the animation got much better after the first season
or two, in my opinion, but whether the episodes themselves were better is up
to each person to decide for themselves.

There must still be many people watching the show because it still hasn't
been cancelled. I'm not sure what season it is now - 16? 18? - but it has
been going for a very long time. Obviously, it is still pleasing some
people!

Matt Groening's _other_ animated series, Futurama, had a great line in it a
couple of years ago. Fry, the lead character, is a pizza delivery boy who
was accidentally frozen in 1999 and then revivied in 2999. He asked if The
Simpsons was still on; another character told him that it was still on, a
thousand years later, but that fans agreed that the first 500 seasons were
definitely better than the last 500 seasons :-)

No. It really didn't become very good until about s4. And it started
coasting around s10-11.
