I loved this show. I thought there would be more buzz than
this.

There doesn't seem to be much discussion of the HBO shows here.
Perhaps the most prolific posters don't subscribe.
I agree with Jorabi that "Big Love" becomes more engaging with each
episode.
The Sopranos "season finale", on the other hand, was a bit of a
disappointment.

Anybody know if S2 is a given?

Like just about every other show on HBO the last several years, the
network ordered a second season almost the moment the first episode
hit the airwaves.
|
Daniel Damouth...
|
Yes, more episodes have been ordered.

I loved the show!
I am awaiting the next season ravidly!
( I wonder what the family surives given this eps ends....)
Anthony Cerrato...

It certainly is addictive. I do wish more people were
discussing it here--a few mormons would be great. I'm still

Try starting a poll after each new episode. That should promote discussion.

not clear on how the LDS church looks at/lives with the
polymygists, or the history behind it all. We're learning
more all the time tho, huh. ...tonyC

I've watched the first three episodes so far, and I'm still a bit on
the fence. Frankly, I just don't find any of the characters that
likeable, or very interesting.
(To be honest, I can't see having three wives at one time. The mere
scheduling alone would drive me mad.)

Makes you wonder how King Solomon managed. He had 1,000 wives.
|
I'm going to give it one more episode to win me over.
Jorabi...
|
Keep going ... it gets more interesting as it goes.
|
Oh, and I think I have read that another season has been ordered by HBO.
|
I noticed *three* Veronica Mars alums in the show. Lily Kane,
Mac and Beaver. Same studio?
Clifford Blau...
|
I don't think so. There was an interview with Rob Thomas, IIRC,
recently posted here, where he commented on the same thing. He just
took it as a compliment to their casting director.
Curse you, Don Tickles, Notary Public!

My main reason for liking the show is the wonderful cast and the
intrigue between Bill & Roman.
I like the characters well enough to appreciate the domestic plotlines
as well, but Roman is just awesome.
Jorabi...
|
Roman's great (as in very interesting character and acting by HDS).
Ken from Chicago...
|
Agreed. One of the best villains ever.
|
Bill's mother deserves the best supporting actress Emmy. She
steals every scene she's in. She's been around forever and has
always been good.
Dave Roy...
|
Especially last night! She was awesome. My wife and I couldn't stop
laughing, especially at her reactions to what her daughter-in-law did.
Lava...
|
Especially when she said I told you I didn't do it to Bill. Great writing.

Ken from Chicago...

At least she can't blame it only alien abduction.

Hope this doesn't offend anyone. But I just can't buy the Morman Henchmen
thing.
Ken from Chicago...
|
Could you be more specific?

Maybe because it's on a premium cable channel that not everyone has? :)
I know I liked the premise of the show but I'm not about to fork over
another $14 a month to watch it.

It's first-run opposite the hugely popular GREY'S ANATOMY and it got
overshadowed somewhat by the return of THE SOPRANOS--altho the polygamy
angle did get lots of buzz. Tho that tended to be more about polygamy and
less about the show itself.
What did you want to discuss?
