Victor Faraday...
This was around 1960-61, for me. We only got one channel, which was a CBS
affiliate
(lived in rural area).

I go back a decade earlier than that.
My earliest TV memories are of two sitcoms in the early 1950's: "My
Little Margie" and "I Married Joan." After 50 years, I still remember
some of the theme song of "I Married Joan" too:

I married Joan
What a girl, what a whirl, what a life.
Oh I married Joan
What a mind, love is blind what a wife.

During the day, I remember a game show called Video Village with a neat
walkway
for the players (like a giant board game for people I think), and I
especially
remember the big chuckaluck cage for the giant dice. I also remember
The Millionaire (a drama series I think), which had some guy going around
and knocking on
ordinary people's doors and telling them they'd been given a million $.

Other strong memories are: Twilight Zone, Sea Hunt, Rescue 8, and....Anacin
commercials. Seems like they were always on; also the commercial
that had the irons racing down the ironing boards....

Captain Kangaroo was my first babysitter. Other most memorable were:
I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, Outer Limits (We control the horizontal.
We control the vertical. . . .), Alfred Hitchcock, and a show hosted by
Boris Karloff
which I think was called "Chiller Theater" or something like that.

Thriller! That's it!

Actually, as a young child, some commercials (with their catchy jingles
and animations) made more of an impression on me than the shows did.
The earliest TV commercial I remember was for Ipana toothpaste. Another
one I remember was the Brylcreem commercial jingle: "Brylcreem: A
little dab'll do ya".
