RATINGS for hispanics (univision) == Much smaller universe

According to Nielsen, these ratings are a percentage of a much smaller
universe. Instead of using all 110 million homes, ratings for networks
like Univision are using the smaller 11 million universe. So a rating
of 15.0% on univision...

...is actually only 1.5% of the total U.S. households.

Of course, 1.5% for a univision telenovela is still better than 0.6%
for a MyNetwork telenovel. ;-)

More to the point, the five daily episodes of La Fea Mas Bella (the Mexican
version of Ugly Betty) average around 4.8 million viewers. That's not a

videonovels...

Okay I looked at the nielsen site. LFMB averages ~4.4 million viewers.
That puts it on the same level as a CW 8 pm drama (gilmore,
smallville) which hover around 3.0%.

The other popular univision telenovela, Mundo de Fieras, averages 3.3
million viewers. That puts it on par with CW 9pm shows like
Supernatural or One Tree Hill which average 2.0-2.2% of u.s. homes.

So it appears Univision and CW are neck-in-neck in terms of how many
watch.

So how many viewers do the CW 9 p.m. shows get?

(veronica mars, one tree hill, supernatural). Those shows are hovering
around 2.0% of the u.s. homes.

4.8 million viewers is far more than athe CW 9pm shows get. When you are
looking at %of households tuned in, that percentage number may be warped for
networks like Univision that are not available in all areas. However, raw
number of viewers are exactly that: an estimated count of viewers.
Univision has more viewers for their top telenova than CW has for their 9pm
shows.

I'd like to see univision expand to the whole nation (like cw or mnt).
I'm not sure how much attention it would get in english-speaking Fargo
North Dakota, but it would be interesting to watch the results.

I think you would be very surprised at the demographic makeup of Fargo,
North Dakota... somebody has to work the sugarbeet fields, after all.

percentage, that's warm bodies. The Monday episode is averaging around 5.4
million viewers, more viewers than any CW show.
