fan of Star Trek at all, and probably, not even of science
fiction, period. Both TOS and TNG have had many excellent
stories, most of which are still very relevant today. To say
otherwise is just being argumentative for the sole purpose
of being confrontational.

No I'm expressing an opinion. Same as you do. Learn to be more
tolerant of people, even if they don't always agree with you.

I've not seen season 3 yet, but I think SGA has been outshining SG1.

acteon...
You feel that SG1 dropped the Ba'al ?

Billy No Mates...
SG1 should have gone to movies, allowing the original actors to go off and
do their own thing but get them back together for big budget movies.

Pumpkin Escobar...
Now that SG1 has been cancelled, you may see that.

Brandonb...
Eh? Where'd you hear that? I've not been able to find any official
notice. However, a video game called "Stargate: SG1: The Alliance" was
announced as cancelled this month. Perhaps that is what you are thinking of?

Brandonb...
Nevermind, I just didn't read newer posts yet. I did end up finding the
official announcement on Scifi.com. It is sad, but I can see why they're
doing it after 10 years, and RDA not being the lead anymore. The show
just isn't quite the same. Ben Browder is fine, but in a more "should be
leading a team in a spin-off show" type of way like Joe Flanigan as
Colonel Sheppard in SGA. (IMDb needs to correct his rank for the new
season....)

Brandonb
- was looking forward to the game, too.

acteon...
I'm hoping they will at least finish season 3.

Wayland...
Yes, in an unprecedented move, the network decided not just to cancel
SG1, but wipe the last six and a half seasons from existence.

Wayland
...so stick those DVDs in those time proof boxes folks!

SGA season 1 >>> SG1's final Ga'ould and Replicator season

Mark Nobles...
The Goa'uld are not out of the picture yet. There are many Ba'als still
in the air.

Which doesn't change the fact that season was BORING trash. I can't
believe how bad that season 8(?) was with Replicator Sam running around
and Real Sam being foolsih enough to trust her. The rest of the
episodes were not any better.

And then there was Jack who was about as charismatic as a corpse.
Promoting him to general was a huge mistake.

SGA season 1 was much better.

SGA season 2 >>> SG1's lame O'rii season

Mark Nobles...
I'll agree the Ori are rather lame compared to the richness of evil

videonovels...
Fortunately, SGA doesn't just focus on the Wraith. SGA season 2 spent
most of its time telling great stand-alone stories. My personal
favorite was when McKay was trapped underwater & thought he was doomed
to die.

that are the Goa'uld, but the Wraith are every bit as lame, if not more
so.

.

SGA is outshining SG1 the same way that DS9 outshone TNG. The spinoff
is making its parent look inferior.

Mark Nobles...

Evil Incarnate...
DS9 outshone TNG? Not even on DS9s best episode against TNGs worst!
DS9 was the 2nd worst show in the franchise...very nearly tied with

Have you rewatched TNG lately? I did; and I found that it was not as
good as I had remembered from my youth. TNG is often downright boring.

In contrast, DS9 often deals with real-world issues like politics, that
are still relevant even though I've grown up.

voyager for most sucky. Even Enterprise was better.
Don't get carried away with this. SGA has yet to show any real
brilliance. This is supposed to be a show about exploration. They need

According to who? I'm not aware of any statement what SGA (or SG1 for
that matter) are "supposed" to be?

to exploring. It has been too much, way too much, about fighting
Wraith.
