something it's not designed to do, instead of using the package right
next to it that is designed to do what you want?

Dont do that untill you get all the facts.....
This idea of a reboot, put forth by Bryce Zabel and J. Michael Strazinsky,
has great potential, with none of the baggage of the old series.
Read the original 14 page story line, then wait without judgement, please.

That's project isn't going forward. It was only released when JJ
Abrams went public. Therefore, IMO it's just a little more that fanfic.

True, JMS and Zabel have other fish to fry (YAY!) but the base idea has big
long legs. Star Trek, with new characters, and a different look, in a
slightly different universe.

Referring to people saying 'Star Trek the Next Generation' won't work
when it first began. I still maintain if it hadn't had the name 'Star
Trek' on it it never would have survived it's first season; maybe not
even it's pilot.

Ok with the exception of ten (or so episodes), it didn't work. That it
stayed on season after season, baffles me to this day.

They need to make TNG Redux. Space opera is a well defined genre, and
an easy one to write adventure stories into, as Joss Whedon has shown.
If they can put together a crew of tough guys, and properly give lip
service to political correctness without actually being PC, they can
pull it off. The key is to select the heroes properly. They have to be

Anybody listed above could clobber Picard effortlessly. If we're

Why? The only people who haven't beat up Worf are those in
other shows on adjacent channels, and in a bar fight Data would go
off wondering what a stick with a ball of cloth material on one end
used for cleaning surfaces has to do with a fight. Meanwhile Spock
would be there quietly slipping up behind and pinching necks most

It was too easy.
Like the transporter, with only a small amount of imagination is the perfect
solution to most problems.
That ship over there that is firing at you, use the energiser to remove a
couple of components from their engineering bay... The shields haven't
blocked beaming since 4th season TNG when they figured out the way round
that.
The captain got Denebian crotch rot while shagging a new species? The
energiser has been used to de-age and cure diseases loads of times.

macho. They have to have burly chests and deep, loud voices, and one of
the guys has to have superpowers. There also has to be a handful of
chicks on the team, too, doing things appropriate for chicks. And bring
back the mini-skirts and ditch the synthehol.
