Now that MI-5 is off A&E, I see no reason to watch A&E anymore. They truly
don't have anything on that is worth watching to me.
The MI-5 marathon was pretty good. The Diana episode actually seemed
plausible.
I'm wondering if the U.S. government didn't pressure A&E to ditch the show

The ratings weren't very good from what I gather. I guess they do
better with endless reruns of CSI: Miami and their tacky reality shows.
I can't recall the last time, before now, that I watched A&E. I can't

I can. My wife watched the early episodes of MI-5, though I didn't,
but we decided to get the DVDs instead.
For me, the last time I watched A&E was for their version of THE
LATHE OF HEAVEN. I had planned to watch their version of THE LOST
WORLD, but never did.

imagine watching it again anytime soon.

because of how arab-centric it became.

I taped the marathon, but haven't watched any of it yet. I'm with you, I'm
done with A&E after this.

Why would they buy it again to dump so unceremoniously, as they did this year?

How would they know what audience it would draw at a *reasonable* hour
that would put it on everyone's prime time TV *schedules*, and with a little
publicity from them? I missed the first show, because I didn't know it was
on at 11pm at night [and I'm a big fan].
I agree with Doc, it seems like someone was out to sabotage this series. :\

Excellent. Now to find some torrents... [note to A&E *raspberry sounds*]

Reports say that A&E won't be showing it anymore. Series 5 won't be shown
at any rate. I don't think they're even showing series 4 re-runs.

I asked this on another thread but never rec'd an answer:
Does A&E now show the full MI5 episode or is it still the
edited-down-for-1hr-timeslot versino? If it's the edited down version,
no wonder its ratings are bad.

I have no way to know this for sure but I suspect they're edited down on
A&E.

They are edited down since the original shows tend to run 58-59
minutes. Still, having since both the original versions and the A&E
versions of S1 I didn't find the edited version to have lost a lot. A
few good moments were lost along the way, but the story still held
together well. So you aren't losing a lot in their editing.

Since they were all scheduled in one-hour timeslots, I think it's
safe to assume that they were the cut-down versions.

I like "The First 48". I can stomach a few minutes at a time of "Dog the
Bounty Hunter" but only because I find it so bizarre. MI-5 looked OK but
I never really tried it.
