While standing in line at Target I picked up this week's issue of TV
Guide, with the fall preview, and I blush to confess I actually
bought it.
But after reading about Nip/Tuck I decided to give this season a try.
To my surprise, it seems to get broadcast on FX only back-to-back on
Tuesday night, with no rebroadcast during the week. (By contrast,
Rescue Me had several opportunities for folks who missed it on
Tuesday.)
Have I missed a rerun in the listings at Excite, or is the best I can
do the "previously on Nip/Tuck" segment this coming Tuesday?

The week's N/T is generally repeated twice during the week -- most
dependably on Sunday nights at 10pm, less dependably on Thursday or
Friday nights at 10pm. I've noticed in my Media Center's programming

It did repeat on Friday at 11pm Eastern. Generally, if a show on F/X has
new episodes, they don't show episodes from previous seasons.

Episodes from previous seasons generally get repeated in 3-4 episode
blocks on Saturday nights in the weeks leading up to the given show's
season premiere, which is how I caught up with s2 and s3 of The Shield
just before the premiere of s5.

schedule (provided via zap2it.com) that the repeats aren't always
listed in the schedule by episode title. Often, a generic placeholder
description of the series is all that is given in the episode
description. Whatever listing you're using, perhaps it does a similar
thing, providing no flag that tonight's N/T repeats the episode from
last Tuesday?

Thanks -- that's the explanation.
As I mentioned, I use Excite. The episode description is just
generic. I took it for a description of the pilot, since the "date
first aired" is given as some time in 2003, but it could just as well
just be a generic description of the series, which matches your
statement.
I'll set my VCR for an hour and a few minutes tonight at 10. Thanks!

I hate those generic descriptions -- they show up on my ReplayTV DVR as
well (it gets its episode info from TMS, the parent company of Zap2It).
It's especially funny when they use a description that's no longer
correct, due to retooling of the show. For instance, the generic
description of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" still says that he has weekly
co-hosts -- I think they dropped that aspect of the show in the second
season, maybe even earlier.

In any case, N/T repeats on Sunday nights, you can pretty much count
on whatever FX show is in new episodes on Tuesday nights, it'll be
repeating the next Sunday night, whether it's N/T, Rescue Me or The
Shield.
