Ar Q...
BB7 is not only unable to hide it's fake, it can't even create any teeny
tiny drama. My guess is that because the reality show script writers are
currently on strike, the producers have to hire the second-rate to write for
the show or even wrote by themselves.

johnmccoppen...
Why do you and others think this show is scripted?

Ian J. Ball...
Anyone who's watched since BB3 who *doesn't* think it's scripted is
naive.

That's why they brought on Grodner & Shapiro - to script the heck out of
that thing!

If it was scritped, wouldn't it be much better.

Ian J. Ball...
No. It's the Peter Principle at work. (After all, every season since BB3
has seemed to be worse than the one before, so this year is hardly
unique.)

It seems to fairly lame this season.

Ian J. Ball...
It's been lame for years. There's a reason the ratings are down.

jaybee...
The "scripted" contention merits further discussion (TOTALLY scripted?)

Ian J. Ball...
I don't think it's scripted on the "dialogue-level", but I do think it's
clearly "plotted", including "helping" "winners" and "losers".

but my interest lies in your contention about the ratings. Can you
provide some backup data? It won its time slot one recent evening and
I've seen other references to good ratings demographics.

Ian J. Ball...
I haven't been scrupulously tracking the ratings, but it seems like it's
down about a million viewers compared to last summer. (It's also true
that it seems like *everything* on the nets is down this summer, but BB
is down more than, say, "Rock Star", which seems to be holding fairly
steady.)

I hope you're right and it crashes, because last year it not only jumped
the shark, it jumped an entire school of great blue whales.

Ian J. Ball...
If you check David's weekly ratings posts in RAT, you can probably get
the exact numbers BB has been getting from that.
