Hell no, I would only consider such a thing if it wasn't a widescreen
TV; i like widescreen and HATE widescreen tvs.

I have a 20-inch Sony in the living room hooked up to cable, a VCR and
a code-free DVD player.

But I watch most of my stuff on a 13-inch Toshiba TV/VCR combo in the
bedroom--no cable or antenna hook-up, just a convenience to watch
tapes. I recently bought a second code-free DVD player to hook up to
the TV/VCR combo, so I can watch my J-pop concerts and Shaw Bros.
imports in the bedroom as well.

no, but you didn't mantion the bedroom, as all houses should have one
so you can watch the sports when you've finished. If I had one in the
kitchen I would be subjected to soaps while I am eating (not good).

Not sure about widescreen in the states, but in the UK mostly its ok
unless in some obscure super widescreen where you would need a tv as
wide as the street and about 2 in tall. I think someone gets a kick out
of always making a format that cuts of the words no matter how wide the
screens get.
