The Wire S4

I noticed that the entire Season4 is available for download now and
last nite i watched eps 6-9. Dayumm.. I didn't think they'd find
anything more interesting/compelling than Hamsterdam, but the whole
school-thing and Cornerboys experiment is freaking brilliant.

Just wait until you've seen eps 10-13. Some triumph, some heartbreak.
And, as usual, no easy answers. I think this is the best season yet.

so far it's really been amazing how THE WIRE started off as excellent
in S1 and just gone UP from there.
Certainly has been worth the wait in b/w seasons.

Oh, and make sure you get the "CRX" version of 13, which is 700Mb
and 80 mins long. There's a 350Mb version from "Omicron" that just
cuts off at the 60-min mark.

without spoiling it, I'll say that WIRE S4 didn't end up going where i
thot it would and i donut think it's going quite where you think it
will.

Reinforces that this is the best show on (US) teev.

OK, but WQ says 'The Wire' is horridly slow paced and no character is
compelling, based on a single episode he watched. He said so right on
the Internet.

I hear that if you rip a random page out of Hamlet and only read that,
it's not a very compelling read either.

The dialogue - and everything else - is so good that even if you start
in the middle of an ep and watch for less than 5 minutes excellence either

I'm so tempted to download the rest of the season. I've told myself
that'll watch it as it airs, but I don't think I resist. Especially
since it doesn't return until 2 weeks. Season 4 has been brilliant.

They've appeared on various torrent trackers, ripped from screener
DVDs. If HBO puts out almost the entire season on DVD screeners,
they shouldn't be surprised when the episodes find their way onto
the internet.

It makes sense for them to issue screeners for the first few eps,
so that critics can review the new season, but why issue screeners
for 4x06 through 4x13?

And a few of those xvid rips don't even bother to obscure the ID code
(ostensibly there to reveal who leaked the dvd). I wonder if it
reallyl matters though. I'd guess that with the strength of the show,
all the screeners do (even leaked) is encourage everyone to watch it.
