for other roles?
you wonder if they thought about this and have considrd other
possibilities?
Jim Heckman...

Yes, I'm absolutely sure Michael Shanks has never considered any
other possibilities.

Sci-fi shows are rather incestuous with their actors. Just as SG-1 has
had actors from other shows such as ST:TNG, ST:DS9, Enterprise,
Farscape, and Andromeda, I suspect newer SF shows will welcome guest
stars from SG-1. Well, at least Amanda Tapping. And maybe we'll start
to see it happening next year, if the rumors of Stargate SG-1's
cancellation are true.

The rumors aren't rumors. Go to Gateworld.net, and you'll see the
news items about Sci Fi *and* the show's producers confirming it.

Yeah, Sci Fi put out a press release and everything. The key question
before we worry about the actors getting other gigs is whether any
other cable channel will pick up the series as a series.

Then again, maybe she'll use the opportunity to do other things. Get
pregnant, take up emu farming, and have a life outside of acting. She
must be a multi-millionaire.

True, tho a lot of scifi stars end up on cop and lawyer shows. Then again
cop and lawyer shows dominate tv.
