5.0 -- Now, I want them to do a TV-Movie to wrap up the cliffhangers
about Larkin and the hybrid mothers. I wasn't expecting it, but what
Cassiday did in the finale was resolve enough of Zura's attempted
Invasion -- and this is crucial -- in a way that also tied into the
show's metaphor about blended families, that a TV-Movie could wrap up
the remaining danglers and serve as a proper epilogue. This last 6-8
episode arc did feel enough like an actual invasion that with such an
epilogue the season could feel like a complete work (and sell
*extremely* well on DVD, to the point of becoming a bonafide cult
classic) without feeling like it was supposed to be the prologue to
the larger, more ambitious storyline that ABC was too impatient to
stick with.
