Only one question.
What were they smoking when they decided to air this tripe?

The idea isn't that bad since it was intended to be a short run show.
The problem is they screwed up just about everything that they could
when it came time to actually making the show, including the host,
coming up with dumb ideas like hiding two of the items and casting a
number of relatively unknown celebrities. If they hadn't made those
mistakes the show might have done well enough to at least show a
profit, but I doubt it would have been a success.

I had decided to Tivo the whole 5 episodes and watch them back to back;
of course they got "cancelled" on Wednesday...I read here that the last
2 would be online only...and then NBC changes it's mind (does it really
have one?) to show the last 2 back to back on Saturday. So I got all 5
on the DVR afterall...watched 1 completely...FF'ed through most of 2, 3
and 4 (except for the final 10 minutes each)..and wondered why they
bothered with 5? What was the point of the real chef's cooking
challenge if those dishes weren't critiqued? I totally agree on the
reason for the failure; the concept itself isn't bad...very similar to
Iron Chef..but with the exception of Tom Arnold, Patti LaBelle and
Cindy Margolis (and only Patti LaBelle is a "real" celeb)...the others
were "who"? No, they really needed to have some B list or better
celebs. One thing I was really wondering...if the "winner" was to be
Patrick Joseph McNamara...

I think it's fair to say Tom Arnold is a real celeb. He did do at least one
movie and was in a successful TV show. But he seems to be open to doing
anything that comes along.

chosen from Thursday night's show through a telephone vote...how did
Cindy win? And how could they show the supposed "live" Friday show
with the winner on Saturday? Hmm...a definite mystery :)
