NBC Beats Up ABC Again

And with a wider margin this time. The past week sees an average 6.3
for NBC to ABC's 5.4. The race is on to the year-end finish line.
Will NBC's season average by then clip past ABC's? Stay tuned.

Nope. Zap2it has now updated their season-to-date ratings to include
the numbers up until December 10th. They are as follows:

CBS 8.2/13
ABC 7.4/12
NBC 6.7/11
Fox 5.2/ 8
CW 2.3/ 4

With three weeks remaining in 2006, NBC is up against the time factor.
Even with a focus on some new December programming, it's a long shot,
at best.

Is this 'race' to year end going to end on Dec. 31 (end of calender year) or
on May 31 (end of May sweeps period and TV season)?

That doesn't seem like a race that the networks would care much about.
Since their TV year (season) runs from fall premieres through May finales, I
think they would be more interested in a 'year end' ratings race that
reflected the 2006-2007 TV season.
