discloses that Fox pays American Idol panelist and co-producer Simon Cowell
$36 million a year and that the reason that it doesn't run Idol in the fall

Simon deserves some big bucks for perseverance he got turned down by
all the networks at least twice. FOX only picked up when Rupert's
Daughter told Rupert what a hit it was in the UK and Rupert ordered
his suits to buy it already.
Plus Simon is also a producer and creator of the show so he probably
gets money for each of the hats he wears.

$36 mil may sound like a lot, but one must remember that he would have staff
to pay out of that.
