Why were the people from the tail section so hostile and weird to the
people from the front section?

They weren't. They were hostile and weird to people that they didn't
recognize as being from the front section of the plane.

If Jack had been one of the people that found them, Anna Luisa
would've known they were from the plane, because she had met Jack
in the airport bar in Sydney.

But neither she nor the other tail-section people recognized the
others as being from the plane. So they were paranoid about them
being from The Others.

Because they had been suffering much greater hardships, with their
numbers dwindling by The Others via kidnappings, etc.

The people from the front section got all the good stuff. (Hey, you try
going a couple of months with nothing to read and no one to fix your
