I assume by this you mean brands (since Ben and Jerry's isn't a stand
along company any more) that are consumer oriented, as opposed to
companies in general. Berkshire Hathaway, for instance, is a very
successful company, but it hasn't advertised on TV nor would I expect
it to, given the nature of it's business.

As for consumer brands that aren't advertised, a lot of high end stuff
like Prada, along with low end stuff like Rubbermaid, jumps to mind.

women whose containers don't get stained with tomato sauce? Or the car
backing into the trash can that pops the dent back?

No, I don't remember those, but I guess if they had them then I'm wrong.

American Standard doesn't advertise much, even though millions of
consumers look at its logo every day. (It makes toilets, among other
things.)

Sorry. Commercials are wasted on me.

I don't think a lot of the high end retail labels advertise on TV,
Prada, Louis Vuitton, Coach. I don't know if I've even seen a Calvin
Klein ad since their Brook Sheilds jeans ads.
