Sci fi channel and...wrestling?

I am curious why wrestling footage is being shown on the Sci FI Channel.
I haven't watched the channel in a long time, but I thought I would tune
in to see Dark Angel. And there it was, ads for ecw(?) on a certain night.

Is this the backlash from what G4 is mutating into? In a while, will
spike tv, the sci fi channel,and g4 opposites of each other?

WWE wanted to start a new program based on the former ECW wrestling
promotion but was limited by contract* to NBC Universal-owned
television outlets. NBC Universal didn't want the usual USA Network to
pick up ECW and become too closely identified as "the wrestling
network" so it offered up Sci Fi Channel as an outlet.

Putting it on Bravo would have made more sense. After all, they are
all just actors.
