Fast National ratings for Friday, Oct. 13, 2006.
Friday the 13th proved a lucky day for the premiere of NBC's new game
show "1 vs. 100," helping the network to a ratings victory.
Overall, NBC averaged a 7.1 rating/12 share, narrowly defeating the
7.0/12 for CBS. FOX got a 5.7/10 from baseball playoff coverage,
leaving ABC in fourth with a 4.8/8. The CW brought up the rear with a
2.3/4 for wrestling.
NBC also won among adults 18-49, doing a 3.4 rating in the coveted
demographic. CBS was a more distant second with a 2.8 rating. FOX's
2.5 rating and the 2.1 rating for ABC followed, as The CW was last
again with a 1.3 rating.
"Deal or No Deal" kicked the evening off well for NBC, delivering a
7.3/13 in the 8 p.m. hour. CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" was second with a
6.4/12. The first hour of the Cardinals and Mets on FOX barely out
performed ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" repeat for third. On The CW, "WWE
Friday Night Smackdown!" as fifth with a 2.1/4.
At 9 p.m., the Bob Saget-hosted "1 vs. 100" had a 7.8/13 in its first
airing, beating the time slot's normal winner, "Close to Home," which
had a 7.3/13. FOX's baseball had a 5.5/10 for the hour, nipping the
5.1/9 for ABC's "Men in Trees." The CW's wrestling remained stable.

I certainly hope not, since I enjoy Six Degrees.

Moving "Men in Trees" to a post-"Dancing" slot would be pointless since
the reality show will end its current run in about a month anyway. A
show with growth potential should be allowed a more stable lead-in.

So what is more impressive, the ratings for 1 vs. 100 or the fact that
Close to Home hardly affected by NBC's pumped up ratings?

CBS moved into first for the night's final hour, getting a 7.3/13 from
"Numbers." NBC's "Law & Order" was second with a 6.3/11, leaving ABC's
"20/20" in last.
