karl...
Ep 2 was actually better than the premiere. the case and resolution had
enough twists to keep me interested especially Woods scheme to pull the
rabbit out of the hat at the end. His fake chewing out of his staff worked
to.

In one sense his moving 'street conferences' with his staff seems a bit
silly as they look like a bunch of puppies following an alpha dog. But then
giving the nature of the human animal it works.

Roger Thaat...
Television directors everywhere seem to believe that a walking
conference, usually with three or four people, in the hall, on the
street, anywhere, is required to make a good motion picture. However,
it's completely unnatural. Most of these conversations in real life,
take place on the phone, around a table or at a desk.

karl...
Oh certainly. I made much the same observation about the walking/talking on
The West Wing as well. But in the context of having that walk & talk making
the staff look like little puppies following an alpha makes sense.

Major ChrisB...
talking of unatural...I've actually found someone who talks on the phone
like he was on TV. A new manager in my work actually doesn't tell anyone
who he is and assumes they know. He'll phone our head office and start
talking to someone and just assume they know who he is or I heard him phone
his mum...ask her a question and hang up without saying goodbye! For about
what 13 years people have been saying how people do this since Mulder
popularised it on the X-Files...now I've actually found someone who does it!

His father/daughter interludes I could do without but they aren't
overwhelming.

Overall I thought I was burnt out on cop/court shows but this one is
passable fair.
