Will they just release an entire SERIES on a blu-ray disc in the future
instead of doing it one season at a time??

If I'm understanding what your asking correctly, you are greatly
over-estimating the capacity of the Blu-Ray discs (BD).
A single layer BD will hold about 10 times the data of a current DVD (25 Gb
to 5Gb). Currently, a typical tv series DVD usually has a little over 3
hours on it (four 'hour', actually about 43 minute, episodes, plus some
extras). At the same resolution and compression, you could probably get 23
episodes on a single layer BD. Thus, you could likely do an entire season
of most current series on a single disc, but certainly not an entire series
(in the American usage of the term), unless it was a very short one like
Firefly or Wonderfalls.
That's burning them at the current resolution and compression. If you want
to record in High Definition (HD), a single layer BD holds about the same
in HD that a DVD does in regular definition. A single layer BD holds about
2 hours of HD and a double layer BD holds about 4 hours of HD.

Nope. They will keep doing what they do now - sell one season at a
time, and then when the series is finished, add some "special features
not available anywhere else" and sell the compleat series set to the
real fans and completists.
