Most surprising renewal

Now that the upfronts are over and done with and everyone has had time
to process all the shock, joy and bitterness they brought, which
renewal do you consider to be the most surprising? Obviously, The CW
bringing back 7th Heaven after The WB promoted the heck out of its
finale was rather shocking. But then again, so was Reba getting picked
up after reports of it being dropped circulated.

Other contenders for the most shocking renewal of 2005-2006 might
include: Scrubs, One Tree Hill (ugh), Veronica Mars (sorry!), The Loop,
The War at Home, and King of the Hill (reports of its cancellation were
a tad premature, I suppose). Personally, I think What About Brian was
the most shocking, simply because its ratings dropped so incredibly
after the first episode.

Anthony D. Langford...
I agree. I thought the show was DOA. For ABC to renew it is just
stunning and shows their desperation. Of course, it won't last next
season given it's awful, terrible time slot.

Ken from Chicago...
Who produces it?

Ken from Chicago...
"From the producers of LOST and ALIAS".

That really is the only explanation that makes sense. The ratings do
not justify keeping it on, the reviews do not justify keeping it on, so
...

What about Brian and The Loop...why renew things that have already been
soundly rejected by peopel that tried to watch them?

Jack Bauer's Spunky Sidekick, Ian J. Ball...
Ditto. I seriously did not see either renewal coming.

Most disappointing renewals - 7th Heaven and Reba.

Scrubs...surprised to see it renewed after the burn off with double episodes
theme they went through this year. Maybe they should have saved the
'extra' episodes and ran them over the summer?
