Will it be on TVLAND??
It starts Sept. 16, I know.

I'm hoping it'll be on a high-definition channel. No listings available
yet though..

I read today these new versions of TOS are taking the place of Star
Trek: Enterprise in Paramount's syndication package. So I'm guessing
that whatever station in your area airs repeats of Enterprise will air
repeats of TOS. The only station I have a timeslot for, though, is
WNYW, Fox 5, out of New York. They'll air the repeats late Sunday/early
Monday at 3:30 a.m., I believe.

Wait - did I read that right? The ONLY station so far known to pick
this up is airing them at 3:30 a.m. Monday morning?????

channel wrong; it's WNBC, not WNYW. It'll start airing the night of
Sept. 17.

|
I hope TV Land airs the original versions of the show, and not the new
ones. We'll see, I guess.

They are; they're starting the 8th, a week before the HD versions roll

Have you actually read verification that the initial presentations
will be available in HD? I don't recall *ever* seeing a syndicated HD
broadcast, and WNBC certainly doesn't air "Enterprise" in HD.

No, sorry, I was using 'HD' simply to differentiate; I should have said
'enhanced'

The official "Star Trek" website includes the following vague
statement:
"The remastered episodes have been converted from the original film
into a High-Definition format, which gives viewers a clearer, crisper,
more vibrant picture than before, even when viewed in standard
definition. Once stations upgrade and start broadcasting HD signals,
the episodes will be all ready for viewers to enjoy in HD."

out. And I'd bet they're burning through the eps WAY faster than the HD
are being turned out.

Well, here's where I'm a bit concerned. The Sept. 8 airing is of three
episodes, in celebration of the 40th anniversary. After that, TOS isn't
joining TV Land's regular lineup until November, at which point the
redone ones will be available. So, I just don't know.

Ah. Well, then, allow me to theorize wildly. Unless TVLand is willing
to show these once a week, they won't be able to show the 'Enhanced'
versions, 'cause they won't be ready. Also, if the shows were on
TVLand, it would really cut into the number of local stations willing to
show them, which, given that there's only the one, they can't afford to
lose any of. :-D

You can expect the enhanced High Definition version of the early Star
Trek series to not be available on TVLand, since that channel doesn't
offer High Definition programming. The TVLand offerings won't be
different than what was aired in the past.
News about the "New" Star Trek TOS HD programs on various web
sites suggests the series is designed for the syndication market,
read Local channels.

In Washington DC its on WDCA 20 at 10pm on Saturday,
In Baltimore it is on WNUV 54 at 3am Sundays, in Philadelphia it will
be on WPSG 57 Sunday at 11AM.
For those of you with DirecTV and a broadcast waver for national feeds
it will be on the NBC nationals KNBC383 at 3:05 AM Monday and WNBC382
at 3:35AM Monday. I don't know if those are both eastern time or not.
I found it with a search or two on tvguide.com
