ABC renews "What About Brian," orders two more comedies

What??? ABC's best new show of the year gets the axe and Brian is
picked up? This is just like Jake in Progress it will be gone next year
in 1 or 2 weeks.

I feel like I'm inside some alternate dimension. WAB renewed and Invasion
axed? If this Bizarro world?!?

In WAB case.. the ratings grew for the last 3 weeks each week. While
Invasion started off strong and diluted.

Sisters" and "Men In Trees," as well as comedies "A Day in the Life"

WAB is a big surprise. They must not have that much confidence in the new
shows.

It seems like they're ordering every pilot they had and stockpiling
shows. I guess they're seriously pursuing a rerun-free schedule since
most of their dramas are serials.

As one of WAB's 5 viewers, I applaud. I expect a major retooling before
it's brought back.

It wouldn't surprise me if it suffers a Jake In Progress type fate though.

I was one of the 5 as well. I've always liked Detmer so I had to watch. I
just don't see how they can keep the Brian-Marjorie-Adam triangle going.
Adam saw and heard them arguing in the last episode, so the jig's up I'd
guess. The open marriage storyline is already tedious imo.

I would have sampled this show had I not seen in advance that
Lancaster switched to dark hair and a very puffy face. Yecch.

I don't find her a very good dramatic actress. She seems more like a comedic
actress and she's playing dramatic roles. She plays the same regardless of
the character when she's doing drama. I'm probably not being fair, I'm just
not a fan.

I've read that Grunberg appeared in the first episode, though just the
back of his head (and next year he'll be a regular on "Heroes")

I had known. Maybe I can find the eppys somewhere.
