How did Locke, Eko and Desmond end up outside of the hatch like they
did? How did Desmond know the future? At first I was taken aback by
what felt like a jarring introduction, what with Locke showing up on
the beach and immediately building a sweat lodge, but I think there's a
lot more to what happened than what we saw. What it is, who knows. I

Figure the same as the "crash": characters made unconscious, some of
them wounded, dragged elsewhere, & awakened.

Then how do you explain away the plane WE ALL SAW breaking up. Was that
staged for everyone too??

Yes. It didn't have those passengers on it at the time.

If it did, they didn't get out alive.

guess I should've never expected a straightforward answer to the
question of what happened to Locke, Eko and Desmond in the hatch. Not
with this show. I still enjoyed tonight's episode, bad CGI bear and
all. At least they're keeping the effects quality consistent. And while
they were trying for natural, the new character intros were a bit
blatant. I just hope all of these other loose narrative threads end up
weaving together at least somewhat cohesively in the end. And next
week's episode looks badass.

I watched seasons 1 and 2 one DVD after another and then this seasons
3 episodes. It all holds together so far, for me, but I'm wary of the
same feeling I had getting hooked on X-Files. I sure hope Abrams
continues to weave the plot threads logically.
