Is Invasion coming back next year ? And what about Surface ?

AFAIK, no official announcement has been made yet about either show.

But I would tend to doubt that they will be renewed. Surface is
especially doubtful, since its demographic skews older than Invasion.

Which is actually surprising; Surface was clearly positioned as a
"family" type sci-fi show reminiscent of "E.T.," that kids and their
parents could watch. But it didn't turn out that way in the ratings.

I've heard rumors that if ABC doesn't like their new drama pilots
they'll choose between "What About Brian?" and "Invasion" and "Brian"
will get renewed because of Abrams.

I saw this at Kristin's as well. But isn't that a truism for all nets. If
you don't like your shows in development more than what you currently have,
you stick with what you currently have? What is the likelihhod that none of
ABC's development slate of dramas will prove acceptable? Of course it is
also possible they will elect to order another 13 of I or WAB as a backup or
midseason replacement should any of the newbies fail. I would be more than
happy if they chose to renew Invasion; however, I don't think they will. I
don't mind WAB, but it is a run of the mill type of show with little
redeeming value and not very likeable characters. Jmho of course.

I can see "American Men" or "The guys" or what ever name they are
going to give it making it on air. It's not a great show, in my
opinion, but it seems to have much the same feeling as "Two and a half
Men" which seems to be doing okay for CBS. So, though there may be
some changes in the actors on the show (I'm not quite so happy with
the Reese character) I can see it might make the cut.

WAB? gets completely crumby ratings - I don't see them choosing it over
"Invasion"...
