one is science and can and should be taught in class, and the other is

But do you view it as having any sort of sentience? If not, then it's
not particularly consequential to say you view the universe as being
god. That's just word games since you haven't attributed any new
properties to the universe beyond those properties that even atheists
would be willing to attribute to it.
