ANOTHER lame Jack-back? At least we got to see one of The Others.

Sorry, folks, I did not like the Jack flashbacks. OK, I got the
"surprise" twist: Sarah, not Jack, has the affair. But it didn't seem
fully motivated somehow--too rushed. Was Jack having trouble getting
Sarah pregnant?
And I definitely don't like Michael or what he did. He's supposed to be
a bright fellow.
But the confrontation with "Mr. Friendly" (the boat Other played by M.C.
Gainey) was a nice foreshadowing of the battles to come.

I wonder why they wanted to lure Michael away. Why do they want him and
Walt?

IMO, they could care less about Michael, but they did want to control the
direction he went in when he did go after his son, thus monitoring the
computers and simuwalt. It seems that the idea was to see who would come
looking. The others were shadowing Locke/Jack/Sawyer for quite a ways.

Hmm...I really had to think about this one, but I guess I'm leaning
toward giving it a 3.5. I don't care for Jack, but I care even less
about Kate and every time she's around bad things happen.

Best part is all the potential speculation about future plot development
based on the interaction with the Others.
Second best part was Monica Dean.

The great Ross Perot also said, if a guy cheats on his wife, how can you
trust him not to cheat you in business? A cheater is a cheater.

Worst part was the lack of communication among Losties (Michael never
told anyone about the computer chats, few knew about the hunting party,
and it looks like few will knwo about the encounter with the Others)
Second worst part was Jack's flashback. It was just not that
interesting. Basically we find out what we already know - that Jack
needs to fix things.
Best lines:
"Walt is special." [Others leader to hunting party. No one in this group
can say for sure what that means but it looks to be an important plot
point]
"Mr Clean" [Sawyer's nickname for Locke, leading to an interesting
discussion about Sawyer's real name. Locke is a sly one.]
I wasn't familiar with (Perchta, Hulda, & Herne) but it was fun
researching them.

The only thing I didn't like was the Other's speaker (Zeke?) seemed to
be wearing a fake beard.
I can't wait for the Others to get some payback, though.

I'm not sure that's going to happen... "Lost" seems to be suffering
from the same disease as "Battlestar Galactica"-- too many defeats at
the hands of a vaguely-defined enigmatic enemy, and what few victories
there are seem almost to be playing into the enemy's hands.
