Sure, 24 has co-producers David Fury (of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL and
LOST) as well as Manny Cotto (of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, ODYSSEY 5, and OUTER
LIMITS) but that's not what makes it science fiction.

because there would not be a presidential election in 2001, but in 2000
or 1996.

Your math is wrong. If we were watching a presidential primary in 2000
that would be early in the year. Say, March. So 1.5 yrs added to
March 00 equals:
2 == +1.5 = 9/01
3 == +3.0 = 9/04
4 == +1.5 = 3/06
5 == +1.5 = 9/07 (2007)
Yes it's in the future, but not far enough to make a huge difference in
the sets. Imho you're making a fuss over nothing. ;-)

Actually, finding a pay phone isn't too hard. Finding one that can
*recieve* phone calls is nearly impossible.
