Nick...
Tonights secret ingredient: Meat

How will they ever think up ways to cook it?

Nancy1...
Not just meat - American Kobe beef (there's an anomaly!). It looked

Steve Wertz...
The majority of Kobe beef is raised in the U.S. then shipped to
Japan. I think Austrailia has started raising some, too. For the
Japanese mostly, of course.

Amarantha...
Ya, it's called Wagyu - that's the name of the breed. Kobe beef is Wagyu
beef raised in Kobe, and apparently represents the best example of the
breed.

delicious - but I missed the end. Did Flay win?

Nick...
Ok, so it was high quality beef. It still isn't much of a challenge to
come up with ways to cook it. Bobby Flay lost. However, his steak and
eggs with hashbrowns, steak and french fries, and cheesesteak sandwich
scored equally high in originality as the dishes of the challenger. :-|

pepsi...

Mr Curious...
Whoever is doing it I wish they would knock it off. Seems like there's too
much cilantro in everything Mexican/Asian lately. IMHO cilantro has a
strong flavor and should be used judiciously, not throw in by the handfuls.

Nick...
Or, preferably, not thrown in at all.
Does Flay ever win? I think the judges have something against him.
hmmmm, what could it be?

ANIM8Rfsk...
The fact that he's a lousy chef?

I *love* Kobe beef, but I doubt I could bring myself to bother with Flay.

Nick...
At the beginning of the episode they said his record was 7-3.

kylejj64...
No, MacMillan won. I thought his dishes looked great, while Flay was
predictably lowbrow (steak sandwich, steak & eggs, etc.). It seemed to
me that there was more jubilation than usual from the studio audience
when MacMillan's victory was announced.

At one point, Flay yelled at his assistants, "Where's my mushrooms?"
He came off like a mentally-challenged thug.

bizook...
There's a good reason for that. :-)

kylejj64...
I'll bet Flay would have some novel ideas for that challenging
ingredient. Grilled meat, meat & egg sandwich, meat tamales. I'll
stop, I'm sure everyone's getting hungry.
