Early Harry, confused and bruised in all his confusion. Not bad if you
know what's going on, I have no idea how it's going to be interpreted by
a viewer who hasn't read the books. According to epguides "Storm Front"

I haven't read the books, but I liked it, and had no trouble following
the story. The characters, plot, acting, and effects were enough for
me to make me want to watch more. Doubtless I'm missing stuff, not
being a fan, but it's similar enough to other work that it doesn't
seem too hard to pick up.

is the fifth episode? Why don't they ever show the pilot first? Wasn't
offended by Bob, but wasn't thrilled either. Basically, it's a wait and
see.

I liked that they had him getting beat up...that's Harry...he gets beat
up. Then he kicks ass. I also liked that they showed the electrical
stuff in his house being disconnected....

4.0 as a show
3.0 as an adaptation
The problem with pilots and first episodes shot is that they often
aren't the best episodes or even good episodes. They are where the
actors and crew get their ideas together. Summer Knight apparently
doesn't look much like the rest of the series. If the Dresden Files
catches on big we may see on Sci-Fi or in the DVD box.
They move up a better episode shot after they got all cylinders firing
first to get peoples attention. In episodic shows this is fine but in
arc shows it doesn't really work. This show is designed to be more
Episodic so it may work well. In the one episode cancellation spree
the major networks went on you have to lead with something good.
