Star Wars series - please tell me Jimmy Smits is in it

With a new SW TV live action series coming out - I believe September -
tell me it has Jimmy Smits in it as Leia's adopted father.

Anybody...

September 2008 maybe, it's definitely not this year. Work on the
live-action series doesn't even start until next year, so it might be
pushing it to get it on-screen by September 2007.

To me it would seem natural having him as the main character being
behind the scenes against Palpatine. Plus without West Wing being on
next season he is unemployed.

I know Lucas wants the story to have unknown characters but the glue
should be Leia's adopted father. He was important in the first SW movie
although he is never seen. You don't even need to show Leia since she is
an infant at this time.

He is also the best bridge between SW3 and SW4.

I didn't see this line yesterday.

The live-action TV show is not meant to be some contiuation of the
movies. It's a spin-off show about a minor movie character, so will
likely have very little to do with "bridging the gap" - it's simply
another storyline from the Star Wars universe. The Ewoks movies were
spin-offs too and had nothing to do with the Saga other than being set
in the same universe and using the Wicket character.
