AOL TV is "the suck" - completely randomized episodes

AOL TV is providing downloads of several first season tv shows.

That's the good news. The bad news is the shows are presented randomly
w/o any kind of order. Proper order might not matter for Wonder Woman,
but if you're watching Babylon 5, V, or Lois & Clark watching the
episodes out of sync could be extremely confusing.

Dumb. Why can't they simply list the episodes?

Jeffrey Kaplan...
Because it's AOL?

P.S. I should also add I was disappointed. When I first discovered
the AOL TV website I thought, 'Cool I can watch Lois & Clark v/o
wasting money on the DVDs.' Yeah you have to watch ads, but so what?
It's free.

But then I looked at the list of episodes & I realized they were
totally random. Trying to watch and understand the story would be
nigh-impossible.

1 Pilot
2 Episode 102
3 Episode 103
et cetera..... ..... why choose a completely random & confusing

Jude Cormier...
And that tiny screen they expect you to watch it on??

I'll buy my DVDs thank you.

videonovels...
Tiny screens don't bother me. I just adjust my Windows resolution to
640x480 so the screen fills the whole monitor. No big deal.

Jude Cormier...
Well, goody goody gumdrops for you!
I still prefer my DVDs.

No need to be rude. We're two adults having a friendly conversation.
No need for animosity or childish behavior.

Jude Cormier...
sorry, if I came across snippy.

"Videonovels" is Troy Heagy, one of the most annoying and useless people in
the rec.arts hierarchy. Feel free to come across snippy. *

It's fine you like dvds; I've got quite a few myself; mostly shows I
missed the first time around. But since I hate work, I try to minimize
the amount of time I spend there. I try to avoid spending money &
prefer to watch free ad-supported television, such as ABC.com's
downloads.

Live and let live.
And that's exactly the point of the site. AOL/TW isn't getting rich off the
site's ad revenue. It's there to generate interest in TV DVD box sets,
where the profit margin is considerably higher. The episodes themselves are
more of a commercial than the actual commercials embedded in the stream.

presentation with out-of-order episodes?

weberm...
Umm, this IS AOL you're talking about...

Is anyone actually using that serivce?

.

It's open to anyone, even non-AOL users like you & me.

I seem to remember reading when In2TV was first announced that the
random order was to keep people from watching the shows (or downloading
once that became an option) in lieu of buying DVDs. Only a few
episodes are available, they are not in order, and they are not all put
online. But that does not make much sense. Who knows.
